A Case Report of Strangulated True Littre´s Hernia

Abstract
|
|
|
We had the experience of a rare case of a true strangulated Littre´s hernia in the new born baby
which was developed in the right inguinal region.
The patient was 23 days old male infant and admitted by his parents with the complaints of a
hard, irreducible, slightly tender mass in the right inguinal region.
During exploration, we found out the gangrenous changed, 2 X 3 cm sized Meckel´s diverticulum which was incarcerated and strangulated in the right indirect inguinal hernial sac.
The distance from the ileo-cecal valve to the diverticulum was 95 cm.
After segmental resection and anastomosis of the ileum which contained the diverticulum, repaired the hernia as Ferguson´s method.
The patient was well done in the post operative course and discharged in the post operative 7th day.
Reporting this rare case of true Littre´s hernia, a brief review of literatures was done.
